Kooindah Waters is a community title development that covers about 84 hectares, combines 252 homes, a Ross Watson designed 18-hole championship golf course and a Resort Precinct that contains a 4½ star Mercure Hotel that offers high quality facilities including a 100 seat restaurant, 300 seat conference center, bar, and golf pro-shop.
The Community Association owns a range of leisure facilities, including tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools, BBQ’s, sauna and gym for use of residents and their guests.
Located on the rapidly expanding Central Coast, Kooindah Waters boasts superior public transport links and excellent access to childcare services, educational and medical facilities. The appeal of the development is enhanced further by its proximity to local beaches.
Nestled in a pristine environment rich with native birdlife and lush greenery, Kooindah Waters has a complex history. Until 1986, the site was largely overlooked and primarily utilized for non-commercial grazing. It housed an abandoned airfield and served as a disposal area for used chemical storage drums. In 1985, a significant fire erupted within the area containing these drums.
In 1986, Wyong Council granted consent for a golf course on the site and shortly after a 9 hole golf course was built on the site. The golf course and surrounding land were eventually acquired by the Investa Property Group who initiated development of the current 18 hole golf course, resort precinct and residential estate in the early 2000’s.
A key vision was that “Kooindah keeps it Green” i.e. that the development would be environmentally sustainable and live in harmony with its spectacular environment. Many of the design components in the development reflect this vision and are maintained to this day.
